The whole process involves several steps to ensure the highest quality and consistency. The Remy Hair Collection Process 1. Hair Sourcing The hair is collected from many donors worldwide and can have different textures: straight, wavy or curly. They blend seamlessly with your own hair. 2. Ethical Practices Ethical practices are essential in the collection process. Donors are usually compensated fairly for their hair, and the hair is collected voluntarily. It's crucial to ensure that no coercion or exploitation is involved. 3. Sorting Once the hair is collected, it goes through a sorting process. The goal is to separate the hair based on its texture, length, and quality. This ensures that hair of similar characteristics is grouped together for further processing. 4. Cuticle Alignment The term "Remy" refers to the method of collecting and processing the hair. In Remy hair, the cuticles (the outer protective layer of each hair strand) are preserved and aligned in the same direction from root to tip. This alignment helps prevent tangling and matting, and it contributes to the overall quality and longevity of the extensions. Remy Hair Preparation For Dyeing 1. Cleaning and washing The collected hair undergoes a thorough cleaning process to remove dirt, oil, and impurities. This step ensures that the hair is in the best possible condition for dyeing. 2. Sanitization Sanitization is essential to eliminate any potential pathogens or contaminants. This step is crucial for maintaining hygiene and safety standards. 3. Acid wash Acid washing is a method utilized to eliminate the silicone coating applied during manufacturing. This coating initially provides extensions with a smooth and shiny appearance but can eventually lead to tangling and challenges in dyeing or styling. Acid washing entails soaking the extensions in a mild acidic solution to remove this silicone coating, thus restoring the natural texture of the hair. This process is commonly carried out before dyeing. Dyeing Process for Remy Hair Colour selection The desired hair colour is chosen based on market trends and customer preferences. Hair can be dyed in a wide range of shades, from natural colours to vibrant hues. Dye preparation For the colouring process, textile dye is used to get the desired colour. These dyes are formulated to work effectively on human hair without causing damage. Application : the dye is carefully applied to the hair extensions. This can be done through various methods, including immersion in a dye bath, brushing on the dye, or using specialized equipment. Processing time: the hair is allowed to sit with the dye for a specific amount of time, usually following the dye manufacturer's recommendations. This ensures that the colour is evenly absorbed by the hair. Rinsing and conditioning: after the processing time, the hair is thoroughly rinsed to remove excess dye. These curly extensions serve as the ULTIMATE solution for individuals transitioning from chemical straightening, experiencing hair loss, or craving immediate length and volume for their mane. ABOUT BRISBANE'S BEST CURLY HAIR EXTENSIONS 1. Method We only offer curly hair extensions in weft method . This selection is meticulously chosen due to its superior aftercare and maintenance requirements, ensuring optimal quality and longevity of the hair. 2. Length Despite the availability of curly extensions, they tend to sell out rapidly due to high demand, particularly when considering colour and texture preferences. To address this, we use an exclusive technique to craft curls from straight hair. That said, expect a loss in length ranging from 5 to 10 inches (10 to 30 cm). Bear in mind your desired length as you may require longer hair for the final outcome accordingly to your curl pattern. 3. Aftercare Maintaining curly hair extensions requires special care. Daily detangling and separating the rows are essential. Keep your hair hydrated with moisture-rich products, including a leave-in mask and daily serum. To preserve the curls and prevent tangling, sleep on a silk pillowcase or wear a silk bonnet every night. 4. Maintenance For curly hair, maintenance is crucial every 8 to 10 weeks. Curly hair is prone to tangling more easily than straight hair, so adhering to this timeframe is essential to prevent knots and minimize damage. I highly recommend this schedule, especially for clients with fine hair. 5. Textures Due to the superior standard and quality of our Brazilian hair range , we offer patterns ranging from 2A to 4A (see Figure A). These patterns can be provided in both natural (2a to 3a, although slightly more challenging) and custom-made options. A consultation is a must to determine your appropriate pattern. Given that most clients have at least two different patterns, our meticulous approach ensures impeccable results. 6. Styling If you prefer straight hair despite being a curly girl, our curly extensions may not be suitable for you. Our curls are achieved through a chemical-free process, and frequent thermal straightening (blow drying and straightening) can cause them to lose their shape. Depending on the customization and health of your extensions, redoing the curls may not be possible. Now, you love your curls, and all you want is to rock them, but sometimes are in the mood for a little change, you can totally indulge in a blow-dry session (yep, just once in a blue moon or even less). Just remember to slap on that heat protector and keep your locks moisturized and nourished. Our curls are naturally dried, and let's face it, dehydrated hair is a recipe for breakage and frizz – ain't nobody got time for that! 7. Colouring If you're considering changing the colour of your extensions, here are a few important points to keep in mind: a) For natural dark extensions: Depending on how light you want to go, there's a limit to how much we can lighten the color without risking damage to the curls. Going too light may result in losing the curls permanently. b) For natural light extensions: We have more flexibility to achieve a higher colour lift, but it must still be done cautiously to avoid damaging the hair and disrupting the curl pattern. Regardless of the change you're contemplating, Babalu strongly recommends having it done by a professional and conducting a patch test beforehand. Listen up because our curly extensions deserve some serious TLC – and maybe even a bit more than what you give your natural curls, dare I say! After all, we've invested in these beauties, so let's make 'em last for years, shall we? Make it a ritual to moisturize them at least once a week. You can create your own hair care schedule or get your hairstylist to help you out. Trust me, treating your hair weekly will leave you with hair that is stronger, softer, and shinier – who doesn't want that, right? And guess what? You don't need a whole new set of products for your natural hair and your extensions . Our Brazilian hair is raw and natural, just like your own hair. If you feel like they need a little extra boost, go ahead and treat them to a professional treatment – just make sure to keep those curls intact! Unlike traditional methods, it uses only threads, avoiding glue, keratin, or metal beads. This technique offers flexibility for various hairstyles. Brazilian knot extensions, also known as "elastic fusion" or "Italian knot," are gentle on natural hair, creating a seamless and long-lasting look. Here is a detailed description of the hair extensions weft method: Selection of hair extensions: high-quality virgin hair extensions are our go-to hair to ensure the best fit for your hair. The hair should be as close as it can in texture, length, and color to the client's natural hair to achieve a seamless blend. Preparation: before the application, the natural hair is washed, dried, and prepared to ensure it is clean and free from any product buildup. The stylist may also trim the natural hair to create a seamless blend with the extensions, usually done after the installation is complete. Sectioning the Hair: the natural hair is divided into small sections to create individual anchor points for attaching the extensions. These sections are usually around 1 cm thick and 1 cm away from the scalp. Looping Technique: a loop is created at the root of each section of natural hair using a threading technique. A small elastic thread is passed through the loop and around the section of hair. Attaching the Extension: once the loop is created, a small section of the hair extension weft is passed through the loop. The loop is then tightened, securing the extension in place. The stylist may use a special tool to help pull the extension through the loop and tighten the knot. Knotting Process: the knot is then secured by wrapping the elastic thread around the base of the extension and the natural hair multiple times, creating a strong and secure attachment.
